Message to Rael

Having cursory studied the writings and message given by Claude Rael, I find it interesting and amazing. I completely agree that it in many ways gives a much better religious view of the world than that presented by the Bible etc.

Areas that confuses me are the following:

1) Yahve tells Rael that the Elohim created the world we live on just 25.000 years ago. That includes the mountains and all the animals here. I do not believe that would be possible or likely considering the movement of continents. It would take them much longer time to float out from the super continent into the position they have had for the duration of recorded history. Also the existence of dinosaurs predates 25.000 years. I believe Rael must have misunderstood – and maybe Yahve meant 25.000.000 years. Considering that the words for 1000 and 1 million are close in French.

2) The flooding of the Earth and Noah. How did the world gets flooded? Where did the water come from and where did it go? Makes very little physical sense. I am sure that the destruction of a fragile human civilization could have been accomplished by less than an outright flooding of the entire world? Physically it would not be possible to introduce that amount of water to our planet – and again remember that the Elohims are people too. Not magicians or Gods – so they must be bound by the same physical rules as we are.

3) The chosen people. I appreciate that Claude is himself half-Jewish, but considering this to be a secular religious movement based on intelligence; I find it surprising that Jews outright would be the favourites of the Elohim. I lack investigations to prove the intellectual supremacy of Jews anno 2011 or even anno 1972. Besides, if the Elohim has mated with the chosen people then they have in effect degraded their genetic code with their own weak genes: for did Yahve not tell Rael that the human race was genetically superior to that of the Elohim in that our potential is significantly bigger than that of the Elohims? Are we not (as the human race) the chosen people and the future, while the Elohims are the past? So, summa summarum, I find it odd that the Jews should receive any special treatment or have any special augmented space in space – just because they won the Miss Humanoid competition from 25.000 B.C. Seems un-intelligent and a way of creating division on the Earth.

4) If you build it they will come. So, we are supposed to build a US $ 37 million embassy complex for the Elohim – preferably in Jerusalem? Two things there ticks me off. Initially when Rael met Yahve in his little flying saucer in the park in France; he was told to build the embassy in a place with agreeable mild climate. Since then, it seems that our super intelligent makers have had a change of heart and now wants it build smack in the middle of a smelly noisy, camera and radar surveillance covered area; with temperatures burning the skin of you if you should venture out. And why? Because they apparently wants to be close to the Jews?? If they master intergalactic flight, I am sure they would be much better off with a nice little embassy on cheap grounds in the north of Sweden – then from there they could either take a Ryan Air flight to Jerusalem or maybe to the largest Jewish city in the world New York? Don’t get me wrong I am not an anti-semit, but to me it seems like bloody favouritism and anti-gentilenes!

5) So we are to take the word of Claude Rael for all of this? So far 65.000 people have in some way embraced the ideas that he presents. I myself also find several of the ideas interesting and even possible – for instance the idea of infinity as being the godliness, the idea of a humantarian geniocracy, and the ideas that humans should be free from manual labour and should focus on matters of the mind – living in a highly technical and money-less society, like the one presented by the Venus Project. I do not, however find that Claude Rael is the best image of a guru I have ever seen – he doesn’t do the best job in selling this idea to his fellow humans. The notion that he should be the son of Yahve and brother of Jesus is absurd and irrelevant for his cause. He is very clearly a child of the Second World War and the nuclear bomb which seems terribly important to him. As what I would call a space hippie, Claude Rael is not the best advocate to convince anyone in 2011 and definitely not a timeless guru. If the Raelians truly wanted enlightened people to join their flock, they should have considered a less dogmatic approach and a less “fantastic leader”!

In short, I think that the ideas presented through the Raelian Movement and through Claude Rael are interesting. Some of them are even new – though the part that interests me the most is not, namely Creationism and Intelligent by Design. I can only recommend his book as a significantly more interesting read than the Bible, and many of the values he presents are more in tune with reality of the 20th century than those presented in other religious scripts.
