Latest Firefox 12 comes up on Google sites as being too old

After upgrading to the awesome Ubuntu 12.04 I have had an interesting issue when I was reading my Google Account calendar or Gmail. I was met by a message saying that my browser is not up-to-date and I should download their latest Chrome browser to get all the features: “Some important features may not work in this version of your browser, so you have been redirected to the Basic HTML version. Upgrade to a modern browser, such as Google Chrome.”

That is obviously bullcrap-as Firefox 12 IS the newest version. Exactly what causes it puzzles me, but rather than deleting the “.mozilla” folder on the computer; do the following:

1) In the URL bar on Firefox write “about:config”
2) Then filter by “general.useragent”
3) Anything that is in bold needs to be right-clicked, and “reset”

That’s it!
